Fraser River Report May 21, 2012

Well, there’s not much time left in terms of prime fishing, conditions are going to start to get tough pretty quickly with the fast approaching freshet. However, as of right now, fishing is still fairly good everywhere. Baits of choice for right now would definitely be eulchons, roe sacs, and pike minnows. As you may already know, this is the time of year that the eulachons migrate up the Fraser to spawn and die, so you could probably guess which bait I would put on first.

Once freshet is in full swing, stick to places such as the Lower Pitt River system, river mouths (Stave), and other sheltered deeper holes.

Riverside has all your baits, tackle, and info if your thinking of getting out.

Tight lines and hard hook sets.
