Garry Elgear; Shop Owner

Garry Elgear has owned the store for 8 years now and he is extremely well known in the industry. Garry has decades of fishing under his belt and is an excellent guide. His favorite systems to guide are the Fraser, Squamish, and Upper Pitt River. Garry fishes hard, but works even harder for his customers. He is a great guy to just come and talk to as well.

Michael Thom: Shop Hand

Michael has been working at the shop for over fours year now and is Riverside’s most senior staff member. He is an extremely well rounded angler, with particular passions for flyfishing and fly tying. Michael has attained a wealth of knowledge of the sport and is always willing to help someone out.

Julian Reedel – professional fly tyer

Julian has been fishing for the last 22 years and has experienced many diffrent types and styles of fishing however considers steelhead and coho his favorite to pursue. Julian is an avid centerpin, spey and fly fisherman and also has experience with hunting and shooting. Julian has been tying flys for ten years and is availible to tie specific patterns on request. About a year ago Julian started tying classic fulldressed flys. Pictures of them can be found in the flytying section of this site.

Julain is a wealth of information and likes to help out around the shop. He is always happy to lend a hand to anyone with questions.

Shea O’Grady: Shop Hand

 

  Shea fishes several days a week all year round giving him a useful knowledge base in a variety  of fishing styles and techniques. His is an experienced steelheader and is activley learning about spey fishing

Angus “Gus” Elgear; devoted shop dog

Gus is riversides greeting crew. Works just as much as Garry does and is sure to give you a warm greeting at the door. He’s and avid hunter and fisher.Gus works best as an upland hunter but also loves bringing in geese and ducks with Garry.
