 Here are a couple of Joe’s first Steelhead from the Stamp River.  He made his first trip to the Stamp this year and spent a day with guide Matt Guiguet.  Joe and his friend landed 3 nice steelies, while drifting single eggs and wool.  They hooked in to 12 on their trip and Matt was extremely helpful with teaching them the basics.  Joe is now looking forward to the rest of his season on our local waters.  Nicely done Joe!  Keep at it and send us the pics.

Rick Hedrich’s Biggest Fly caught Spring

Rick caught this 40 inch long , 30 inch girth Chinook on the fly with his spey rod on the Vedder River.  This beauty weighed in at 40lbs!

Derek Steen and his smallest Spring of the season on the Fraser River.  This beauty was caught bar rig fishing the Fraser with a orange head christmas tree green mylar wing spin and glo on his new fetha styx casting rod.

Rodney Wassenaar and his First Sturgeon

Rodney caught his first Sturgeon ever and at 7 1/2 feet it was no slouch.  Rodney and his Dad ,Ed ,  were out on a Charter with our guide Johnny B on the Fraser on July 25th 09 for spring’s and sturgeon.  Looks like a good time to me!

Monster Chinook on the Fraser

This beautiful Fraser Chinook was caught by Bob Rutherford at the end of July up by Peg Leg Bar.  It weighed in at 46lbs 8oz.  Good job Bob!

Riversides Michael Thom with a nice Watch Lake Rainbow

Mike was fishing at Watch Lake in late May 09 when this big boy took his fly. He was up there with the Arch Bishop Carney Fly Fishing Club staying at Fawn Lake. Fishing was slow at fawn (chironimid wise), so Watch was recommended by a local. Although Michael’s fish was the biggest of the day, fish were being consistantlycaught in the 14-18 inch range on chironimids. Michael’s fish weighed in at 6.5 lbs, 26.5 inches.

The Young shop hand Cody Sojka with just one of his many Steelhead that year.  It’s funny how many people will diregard Cody’s sage advice on Salmon fishing because of his age, when truth be known he has fished more times in his short years than guys three times his age.  Cody can produce fish on most lower mainland rivers when other “experienced” anglers can’t and he leaves people wondering ‘what is he doing?’ or saying , ‘Beginners luck’.  Little do they know.

Harrison’s 1st Steelhead

Harrison Wry with his first Vedder River steelhead.   It was taken on his new centerpin rod and reel,  Harrison was fishing that day with his dad Hollis and was polite enough not to rub in the fact the he caught the only fish that day, so we’ll do it for him.  Good job Harrison!

Aaron Ranger’s First Sturgeon

Aaron is the guy on the right and was out with his company being guided on the Fraser River and was more than excited with his first  Sturgeon.  Catch just one or two of these guys and you are hooked!
