Spey Line
These heads have a long front taper that ensures the softest of presentation and a design that loads a rod up easily - resulting in extremely effortless casts of prodigious distances. For the very best in presentation and control attach one of Rio's VersiLeaders to the front end and Rio's highly acclaimed shooting lines to the back end. The AFS heads are available in four different densities: The floating version (two colour choices) is either a subtle green that will not spook fish in the clearest of water, but with a 15ft yellow back section to aid the angler in seeing how the line fishes, or for a low light or hard to see backrounds, such as the Deschutes in summer, a bright steelhead orange color is also available. In addition there is a floating head with a 15ft intermediate tip, a hover line with a sink rate of one inch per second and a fast sinking, type 4 sink head. Each head has Rio's bullet-proof welded loops in both ends for easy rigging.

Rio Aqualux
Lake fly line. A must have line for the serious lake angler. Castability has always been a problem with clear intermediate sinking lines because there are no lubricants in the coating and the lines drag through the guides. Rio has solved the problem by incorporating proprietary lubricants and XS technology (new for 2009) into the translucent green running line that make the line incredibly slick. The head remains completely clear. With an intermediate sinking rate of 1.5-2.0 inches per second, the line is perfect for fishing subsurface and shallow shore lines – ideal when stealth is required for wary, selective fish. The Deep 7, built on an ultra thin core, is one of the fastest and most durable sinking lines in the world. It gets flies down deep and generates high line speed. North American anglers find it useful fishing in waters such as the Kamloops area of British Columbia or the desert lakes of the U.S. The Deep 7 is created for a 7 weight fly rod, but can be used on 5-8 weight.

Rio Density Compensated 10ft and 15ft Sinking tip
Sink Tip Fly line
The sink tip line of choice for nymph and streamer fishing. The lines are designed with a balanced length of thick floating body to eliminate the "hinge" or kick during the casting stroke. Density compensation stops the problem of sinking tips from sinking in a curve; the tip sinks at the same speed as the body to get the fly down for more strikes and better strike detection. These lines are available with a new 10ft DC sink tip or the standard DC 15ft sinking tip, and for 2009, both lines feature Rio's XS technology.
